Household Support Fund

After allocating another £900,000 to support households across the Borough, Sefton Council closed the Open Access Household Support Fund scheme to new applications on Friday 30th January.

Since re-opening the scheme in April 2025, the Council received and dealt with over 14,000 applications to the fund.

The Government has announced that, From Wednesday 1st April, 2026, , all local councils will operate a new scheme called the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).
