Olympian Greg Rutherford and his son Milo have taken a whistle‑stop tour along the Sefton coastline, highlighting some of the borough’s diverse attractions in a new promotional video.

From the dramatic sculptures on Crosby Beach, to hands‑on discovery at The Atkinson, the pair experienced some of the area's most beloved attractions. A visit to Churchtown’s family-run chocolatier shop was a particular highlight, followed by exploring the Botanic Gardens and Southport Marine Lake. 

Greg summed up their day by saying: “We love the Northwest Coast, and we’ll be bringing the whole family back.” 

Year of Culture

Their visit comes ahead of Southport’s first-ever Year of Culture in 2026, set to bring an even wider programme of cultural events and attractions.
