Animal visits, nature story writing and postcard sessions and floral workshops are among the activities on this year’s schedule. Craft sessions, LEGO and board games and chess clubs are on offer as well as a family bingo and quiz at Crosby Library.
Special summer events
Special summer events are in addition to regular storytime sessions that take place throughout the year.
Councillor Liz Dowd, Sefton Council Cabinet Member with responsibility for Libraries said: “There’s so much going on at Sefton’s Libraries this summer for children and young people.
“Animal Visits are a chance to meet a range of creatures including snakes and stick insects close-up, and Nature Postcard and Floral Workshop session are an opportunity to get creative about those animals and what we see in the garden.
“Floral workshops are being led internationally renowned sculptor Ruth Moilliet, whose work is inspired by the plant kingdom.”
Snapped already
The ever-popular Animal Visits have all been snapped already but people can go on a waiting list in case of cancellations.
Places at the two-hour Floral Workshops with Ruth Moilliet and two-hour nature Postcard writing sessions cost just £3 per child. All other events are free.
